And the 2013 Pantone® Colour of the Year is…

Every year, Pantone®, a colour system for designers of all kind, comes out with their colour of year. Every year, I get so giddy when I find out what the current year’s colour is. This year, I’m even extra giddy as the 2013 colour of the year is one of my favourite colours right now. It’s vibrant, romantic, and yet subtle enough that it’s that great colour to add for a nice splash. What is it?

Emerald! Pantone® quotes it as  ”Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”, which I think is dead on.

Watch clothing stores and home decore stores which is where these trends usually start. I have a strong feeling that Emerald will make it’s way to graphic design, and the wedding industry with a loud hurrah this year. I’ve already been seeing it used as inspiration on sites such as Pinterest.

Business Card Sale

Crazy sale on Spot UV Matte Laminate Business Cards. These cards are usually worth $560, get them until tomorrow for only $260, design included! Don’t know what Spot UV Matte Laminate means? Spot UV means that only parts of the card are coated, to have a different texture and finish, to stand out. Example, you can have a pattern in the background, or your logo coated, and the rest of the card not coated. Matte laminate gives the card a semi-plastic feel. These cards are very high quality, and very eye catching.

Deposit must be received no later than 5pm May 3rd, and design must be completed no later than 5pm on May 10th.
